Ed Burkhart from BayState Business Brokers worked with the owner to prepare BayState’s confidential business review (CBR) to take the business to market. The property management business generated a lot of interest due to its sizeable customer base, contracts in place and the firm’s proven track record and expertise in property management services.

Results

As prospective buyers were identified, the owner was especially interested in owners of an existing property management company that had a similar focus. The current owner and the two prospective buyers developed a relationship quickly and the owner and business broker Burkhart agreed it seemed like the right fit.

Ed quarterbacked all phases of the brokerage process as the prospective owners identified operational efficiencies to be attained from their existing business and secured financing through the SBA.

The seller was thrilled to transition business ownership to the two buyers who achieved their goals of growth through acquisition that included expanding their geographic reach. The former owner remains active in the business without the additional burden of running the business.
