To be a successful business broker, you should have the following experience:
5 years of full-time experience in business to business (B to B) sales, preferably prospecting and selling to owners of privately owned businesses.
Proven track record in prospecting to identify owners looking to sell and to expand strategic buyers. Should demonstrate creative efforts for successful prospecting.
Desired Education / Experience
Understanding and experience in basic accounting principles and experience reading financial statements, such as tax returns, income statements and balance sheets.
Experience owning or managing a small to medium sized business ($1M to $15M in annual revenue).
Experience working in family-owned business a plus.
